Father Aidan Troy in Paris

Just one year ago, on September 28th 2008, Father Aidan Troy (a member of the Passionist Order for some 44 years) arrived in Paris to take up office at Saint Joseph's Church on leafy affluent Avenue Hoche, in the shadow of the Eiffel Tower.

Kaye Mortley has created a documentary that 'is a compilation of moments taken from interviews recorded over the past year in Paris where Aidan Troy speaks less "about" Paris than "out of" Paris'. This documentary will air on Saturday 10 October, at 6:05pm.

Fr Aidan has previously written Holy Cross, A Personal Experience (published by Currach Press, 2006), which is an insiders account of the Holy Cross dispute. The Holy Cross dispute occurred in 2001 and 2002 in the Ardoyne area of Belfast, Northern Ireland, and involved an escalating dispute between the pupils and parents of Holy Cross R.C. Primary School and the residents of a loyalist area that was on the route to the front entrance of the school.

This documentary is a chance to find out about Fr Aidan in Paris after his move away from the Holy Cross R.C. Primary School to Paris in September 2008, and his experiences there. As he freely admits in the documentary, leaving Belfast was not his choice, but this documentary shows the path that Fr Aidan continues to follow as part of his life's calling.
