Fit For Success
Now more than ever reaching your potential in the workplace is important. Finding the motivation to brace the economic climate can be difficult however, so it is timely that Joan Geraghty, the self confessed 'fitness junkie' inspires us on the topic in her new book Fit For Success.
Fitness is not just for young people, thin people or sporty people – it is for everyone. The ‘can do’ attitude of a fit person in the workplace is evident to everyone. It keeps the mind sharp and shows you are on top of your game. Whether you are looking for work, working hard to keep you job or indeed your business afloat, this new book will give you the motivation to get your fitness programme integrated into your work-life balance.
Joan Geraghty describes how fitness has not only made some leading business and professional people healthy but also wealthy. In this book, she interviews fitness fanatics Dr. Mick Loftus G.P., James Murphy of Lifes2Good, Ray O’Connor of Proactive, Ercus Stewart SC, Catherine Wiley of Camp Beaumont, David Hegarty of Yogametrics and champion runner Catherina McKiernan.
As a huge advocate of fitness at any stage of your life, Joan not only talks the talk but walks the walk. She took up running at the age of 40 after her fourth child was born. She has since completed two full marathons and numerous half-marathons. Also, Fit For Success features Dr. Mick Loftus, who, now in his 80th year, has set his goal for 2009 to run his first marathon.
The busy people who feature in this book manage fit in time for exercise into their busy work schedules. They know that this makes their work more productive. Look at the example of Mr and Mrs Obama, working out together in the White House gym early every morning. If they can do it, so can everyone. Exercise makes you feel good about yourself. It fires you up, keeps your mind razor-sharp and builds up your self-confidence. It makes you fit for success.
