Seriously? A Dublin fluff piece? Do you know anything about Irish bands? Blizzards - West Meath Duke Special - Downpatrick Mick Flannery - Blarney Fred - Cork/Limerick Kisa Hannigan - Meath Mundy - Offaly that's before you even get to the up and coming bands which is full of Northern bands and bands from Meath, Kilkenny, Limerick and Galway. Do your research.

#4 Mikey McGrath-Bryan 2009-11-24 12:28 The Coronas? Bell X1? Needing spotlight? They've already had far too much. This appears to be a Dublin fluff-piece extended across an entire book, but I will reserve judgment until I read. Until then, we still need a definitive record of great bands in Ireland. I agree with this. although i havent read it either, it sounds like another person trying to sound like they know irish music while the real hard working bands dont get a look in. new secret weapon, hassle merchants, hot sprockets, the last tycoons, howl. amazing bands with real talent. dont write a book to pat ur mates on the back!

I've half a mind to tackle the real underground in Ireland myself! So much amazing talent in every city in this country gets choked when they can't afford to tour etc., while the likes of the Coronas flounce around irrelevantly in the spots real talent need to be in!

But Mikey,Ham Sandwhich is from Kells and 'And So I Watch You From Afar' are from Belfast! I'm sure Jenny's started on the next two booksworth already...and there's a whole wad of top Dublin, Cork and Waterford bands still not included yet! So Up The Diese and top marks for any modern DJ with the guts to get stuck in and tackle it

Amen sinead, Irelands indie music scene is and has been for the last few years the very best and most creative in the world.People just don't realise how lucky we are as a nation for our music, bands and musicians and too few dj's and radio stations are tuned in to the incredible talents right under their noses.Well done Jenny..this looks excellent!

This is a fantastic idea, and Jenny is a mine of information about bands in general, especially Irish ones. Can't wait for this to come out? What date will it be available? Good christmas press for all wannabe and emerging bands, make sure you have it on sale in HMV and Tower!!
